Public-Private Mix (PPM) Advocacy
Public-Private Mix (PPM) is a strategy to increase TB cases that involves public and private primary and secondary health facilities. STPI seeks to strengthen PPM networks in several parts of Indonesia.

Why is PPM Advocacy carried out?
In 2017, 74% of people with TB symptoms in Indonesia chose to access private services. Meanwhile, only 38% of TB cases were reported by private hospitals and 4% by private doctors/clinics.
Who is the target?
The programme will be implemented at the national level and 1 district each in 7 priority provinces. The districts will be selected by fulfilling the following criteria: DPPM priority or non-priority districts, TB cases in the district, readiness of the local government and its stakeholders, presence of partners.
What is the purpose?
Improve access to quality patient-centred TB services through evidence-based policy advocacy to public and private sector stakeholders.

How does this program work?

Support the preparation of national level PPM policies, good practices, publications and reports for situation analysis;

Support the collection of primary data on PPM stakeholder perspectives that relevant for “PPM TB Advocacy Capacity Assessment”;

Organize national and subnational PPM multi-stakeholder meetings to discuss the TB nationally, especially the involvement of the private sector and the TB PPM programme;

Support in landscaping key private groups and mapping potential resources for PPM;

Support the identification and orientation of potential PPM advocacy partners and communication platforms at national and subnational levels;

Advocate for innovative solutions that help reduce costs and improve access for all TB patients including from the private sector.
